Robotic Process Automation – 8 Important Pros & Cons

Pros And Cons Of Robotic Process Automation

Robotic process automation means creating robotic intelligence software and then use robots for business and work. This concept is highly advanced and requires a lot of investment. But it does have its own pros and cons.

The pros of robotic process automation:

Some pros are given below.

1.      It makes work faster.

If you use robotic process automation, then the work you desire to do will be done in no time. For instance, if you have a factory and your workers take 10 minutes to do the job, then the robots will do the job in 2 minutes. This is so fast.

2.      It makes work more efficient.

In case if you don’t know, robotic process automation makes work more efficient because it eliminates any chance of error in work. For instance, if you have a factory in which you manufacture chairs, your workers will no doubt make some mistake but robots will do the work properly and won’t make any mistake.

3.      It will improve quality.

Robotic process automation has a high chance of improving product quality. This is due to the fact that this procedure reduces the chance of error to zero extent. If there is no error in your product, then the quality of your product will automatically increase.

4.      You won’t need to worry about wages.

If you use robotic process automation, then you will just have to purchase the software which will operate robots. After you purchase the software, you won’t have any other costs except the maintenance of your robots. You won’t have to worry about the wages because you don’t pay wages to robots.

5.      You can produce more quantity.

Once you use robot process automation, then you can produce more quantity of your products than you used to. This is because robots produce more quantity in lesser time. More quantity of products will mean more profit than before.

The cons:

Some cons are given below.

1. It will create unemployment.

If you know all the benefits of hiring and keeping robots, then why will you still keep the workers in your factory? You will fire them, obviously. When will you fire them? Where will they go? This will make people unemployed for sure.

2. It can be used for illegal activities.

Technology such as this has many benefits, but at the same time, it can cause many problems as well. It really depends on the use of this technology. For instance, people can use this technology to make weapons that will be better in quality, these weapons will be greater in quantity, and they can be used for illegal activities.

3. It will increase the crime rate.

What will people do if they get unemployed? They will have to do something to feed their families. When no option is there, then people will turn towards crime. The more unemployment, the more crime will be witnessed on the streets.

Conclusion

In the light of the above information, it can be summed up that robotic process automation has many advantages and disadvantages.
